Africa...’Samburu’ - Lion with Jenny McWhinney

Jenny McWhinney brings to Koala Conventions her latest design Africa ..’Samburu’. This stunning African piece can either be completed as the blanket above or students can choose options of the individual designs to be stitched up on a fabric of their choice and completed into a piece of their choice - perhaps a framed piece or a cushion. During this class you will be working the central lion’s head using a combination of wool and silk threads using Thread Painting to achieve this superb piece. (actual size of Lions Head 12 1/2” x 12 1/2” (32cm x 32cm) Those students who wish to complete the entire rug at a later date should purchase a piece of blanketing 140cm x 140cm and work the lion in the centre of the rug. For those who wish to complete only one of the pieces you will have the freedom to choose your own fabric but it will need to measure at least 30”x 30” (76cm x 76cm). This will be an exciting workshop...students should not be put off by the size of the project as all the animals have been worked on a thicker ply wool and hence develops faster that you would think.

Kit Cost: $73.50 includes all wool and silk threads, needles, instructions, photographs, scans and water soluble transfer fabric/plastic required to complete the lions head. The kit does not include the fabric.
