Toadstool Duet with Lesley Turpin-Delport
Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th July 2013
Enjoy fabric manipulation which is fabulous fun. Learn how to shape the toadstool caps with Asian and Western felting techniques working with silk, pure wool and organza. Once the basic shape is created, embellish with clever couching with bouclé and delicate bead details. The gills (veil) and stems combine painted cocoon silk fibres and pure wool with composite stitch details. The toadstools can be framed or used on a box lid, album cover or recipe book
The tiny toadstools are free-standing perfect images made from perlé and yarn with variations of spider’s web and Lesley’s urchin stitch. The toadstools nestle into rayon compost, skeletal leaves and spores of Japanese braid.
