Tremendous Trimmings for Hats, Bags & Clothing with Christine Yarker
Thursday 8th & Friday 9th July
Koala Conventions are delighted that Christine Yarker , the Head Milliner for Opera Australia has agreed to share her skills, vast experience and no doubt fun tales from behind the set of the productions that she has worked for, with our students - The Moulin Rouge being one of many productions. Through popular demand Christine is returning for our 10th year anniversary.
This workshop is devoted to trimmings and the wonderful effects that can be achieved using ribbons, fabrics, feathers, veiling and more. Techniques covered will include fabric - bias rose, carnation, tri, cubist and pentagon roses and leaves; ribbon trims - braiding, rosettes, fringing and flowers including starflower, folded flower and fuchsia. Also covered in this class are fabric bows, various fabulous feather trims and styling with crinoline and veiling.
Although all these techniques are suitable for hats, bags and clothing, some trimmings are so spectacular they can be attached onto a simple comb or hair clip and worn as a hair accessory.
Skill Level: All levels of experience welcome in this class.
Kit Cost: There is no kit for this workshop. A list of requirements will be sent to students.
