Chinese Embroidery with Margaret Lee
Monday 1st, Tuesday 2nd & Wednesday 3rd July 2013 - 3 Day Workshop
Chinese Brush painting is an indelible part of Chinese culture . These two designs are typical examples of this artistic style and, in these two projects, specific embroidery techniques are employed to recreate the artistic style. You will learn application skills relating to thread sizes, stitching density and directions to achieve the look and feel of this artistic style. The skills learnt are essential foundations for mastery in Chinese ‘Su’ embroidery.
Students who are already working on a Chinese embroidery design may continue in this workshop with the piece that you are already working on.
Skill level: This is a second level project within the foundation program and students should have knowledge and practice of first level foundational skill
(For participants who have not done any level 1 techniques, but wish to join this class, please consult with Wendy or Margaret to discuss their participation.
Kit cost: $84.00 (without frame) or $126. 00 (with slate frame)
Kit cost: $00.00 if you have already started a Chinese embroidery design and would like to continue working on the piece you are already doing.
A slate frame is essential for this workshop. If you do not have one please indicate on your booking form that you wish the kit with a slate frame.
Frame preparation will be done for this workshop on either Friday 28th June between 2.00pm and 5.00pm or Sunday evening between 5.00pm and 7.00pm Please choose either Bamboo or Plum Blossom when booking.
