Woolly Butt Gum with Jan Pilgrim

This piece of surface stitchery has included in it some stump work leaves, which are stitched onto a darker green silk. The surface stitchery has numerous stitches included in the design. I have used the Woolly Butt Gum with its brightly coloured orange blossoms to contrast with the green silk and the threads. I have used cotton, rayon, silk and metal threads to bring it all together. There are many stitches used in the Woolly Butt and a different way to present the blossoms. 18cm x 19cm unframed.
