The vogue for fanciful oriental designs influenced many fields of the decorative arts in the Western world in the mid to late 17th and early 18th centuries. Blue and white china is one of its most enduring legacies. This design features many typical Chinoiserie motifs and is stitched in one ply, blue and white wools, using a variety of crewel stitches and fillings. The project is suitable for framing, cushion, bag, or footstool and the finished design measures 27.5cm x 22 cm.
Skill level : All welcome however beginners must have some knowledge of basic surface stitches.
