The Golden Pine with Margaret Lee
Wednesday 6th October - Thursday 7th October 2010
The pine tree is a culturally significant symbol throughout Asia. It symbolises longevity, steadfastness and endurance. ‘Golden Pine’ comes from the design rooms of Kurenai-Kai and the model above is stitched by Margaret. It is worked entirely with metal thread on Black sushu fabric for a stunning effect. Participants in this project will learn to apply some of the unique techniques of working metal threads that are used in Japanese Embroidery.
